Joost Boersma (64) die 25 jaar als rechercheur en hulpofficier van justitie bij de Fiscale Inlichtingen- en Opsporingsdienst (FIOD) werkte geeft een beeld van de werkwijze van de dienst. Bijvoorbeeld bij witwaspraktijken, fiscale fraude en merkvervalsing. ‘Als het in een zaak uiteindelijk lukt de rechter een fraudeur te laten veroordelen, geeft dat veel voldoening. Vooral omdat belastingfraude ons als gemeenschap veel geld kost’, aldus Boersma.
In zijn leven als FIOD-ambtenaar stuitte Joost Boersma ook regelelmatig op een te innige verstrengeling van privé en zakelijk. ‘Ondernemers denken te gemakkelijk dat ze er wel tussendoor zeilen bij de Belastingdienst als ze rekeningen te gemakkelijk op naam van de zaak zetten. Regelmatig gaat het van kwaad tot erger, met als gevolg dat op een dag de FIOD Aanbelt!’. Boersma biedt ons een boeiend kijkje achter de schermen van de FIOD!
